Mckfresh
Nail Attire is the brainchild of Kate Mckenzie. Her first polish collection is
inspired by the movie 'The Labyrinth' featuring David Bowie and teenage
Jennifer Connelly. David Bowie never seizes to amaze me with his
eclecticism and timeless odd style. He reminds me of my high-school English
tutor who sent me few dozens Bowie tapes to ‘practice English’ – how eccentric
is that?!
Well, back
to Mckfresh. The Labyrinth collection has 13 polishes and I picked 3:
The Fireys, T.B.O.E.S, Hoggle |
Hoggle –
inspired by the Goblin Kings Spy, is a milky white jelly with multiple
different colour/sized hex and round glitters – much like gold/silver coins and
jewels.
Hoggle, natural sunlight |
T.B.O.E.S –
inspired by The Bog of Eternal Stench, is a pastel aqua crelly heavily
glittered with gold, navy, blue, lime green and white round, hex, and square glitters.

The Fireys – inspired by
festive creatures called The Fireys, is a pastel orange crelly with gold
bars/round, red, matt white glitters of different shapes.

Mckfresh
are 3-free and handmixed. The colour and glitter combinations are very creative
and interesting. These are polishes amazing on nails and extremely hard to
capture (with my iPhone built-in camera). The polishes are very heavily glittered but
surprisingly easy to apply with minimal glitter fishing – probably ode to a good
suspension base.
I applied
two coats followed by Essence gel look top coat. My favorite of the three is The
Fireys – just like yummy spicy chilly sauce, followed by Hoggle – love the
glitter combination and VNL doesn’t trouble me, then T.B.O.E.S. – darn hard to
take colour accurate pictures of this one!
If unique glitter crelly is your thing, make sure you head to Kate's Etsy store (here) to check out the rest of the Labyrinth collection.
Newsflash: Mckfresh Nail Attire and Sayrui Nail Lacquer have joined force, releasing a very limited collection "Gotta Catch 'Em All" inspired by Pokemon! These polishes contain some very unique and limited Japanese glitters!! Their release dates and swatches are now on Mckfresh's Facebook page (here) and Sayrui's Facebook page (here).
