Aussie Nails Monday 21Jan - Skittles with Cult Nails

The theme for today's Aussie Nails Monday challenge is skittles - candy nails/ rainbow colours/ different designs on each nails. I took it literally as the candy skittle and it turned out to be quite a fun way to try out my new acquisitions from the indie polish brand Cult Nails

Thumb: MIKI No.15 - a shimmery bright orange I got from local drug store/pharmacy, opaque in one coat but I put on two anyway.
Index: Cult Nails Flushed - described as 'buildable sheer' blurple (blue/purple) with purple/pink shimmer. Two coats. This gorgeous is lovely on its own but I am dreaming of layering with Max Factory Fantasy Fire or Cult Nails Seduction
Middle: Cult Nails Deal with it - this bright lime green creme-jelly is mesmerising, almost neon like. It looks a bit leather-y in room night, and under sunlight, it grows with intense golden shimmer. It is my favourite of my skittle nail colours. Applied two coats.
Ring: Cult Nails Feel me up  - While it is a gorgeous cheerful sunshine yellow, I am on the fence with the formula. A few reviews mentioned the importance of letting the first coat to dry thoroughly before applying the second coat. Two coats were sufficient to reach opacity.
Pinkie: Cult Nails Scandalous - a coral/salmon creme-jelly, pretty but quite sheer even with two coats.

I like Cult Nails' brushes, they fan out well and carry good amount of polish. The formula is on the sheer side but build up nicely. While these polishes do not dry immediately like many commercial branded polishes - best to wait for a minute or two between coats - they do not smell nasty (OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service, I am talking about you!).

I was happily admiring my colourful nails until my hubby mentioned Dexter's Ice Truck Killer...

  1. Love all the bright colours. Had to laugh at the Dexter photo every time I wear different colour nails my son says he doesn't like them as they look like the ice truck killer :)

    1. Lucky my son is still too young to associate candy nails with ice truck killer! I am surprised at how much I love these bright colours =) From dark colours, holographic, glitters polishes, I have passed the point of no return!
