Australia Day Nails - Green & Gold

This Saturday, 26 January, is Australia Day. It is the official national day of Australia, a public holiday across all the states. The First Fleet of British ships arrived at Botany Bay (now Sydney) on this day in 1788, marking the beginning of British sovereignty. Nowadays it is more a date to bring out the beer, barbie (barbecue), and fireworks to celebrate Australian diversity. I started my life in Sydney a few years back on Australia Day long weekend. I presented at a conference, which was followed by a lovely dinner by Botany Bay.
Cathy of More Nail Polish has started a series of Aussie themed nail art to tribute all things Australian and asked us to join in the fun. Of course I don't want to miss any chance playing with nail polishes! Unable to make cool nail tattoos or free-hand, I picked a very simple tape mani using Australia's national colours green and gold.
green: Cult Nails Deal with it and OPI Live and Let Die
yellow (gold): Cult Nails Feel me up

I will miss the fireworks and entertainment this weekend (you can find out more celebration events here). On the other hand I don't mind it too much since I will be enjoying my weekend sipping coffee/ surfing at a quiet beach in kiwiland. xx Ann
