Gold - Aussie Nail Challenge 21st Dec

Today's weather is perfect for painting golden nails. I decided to go with butter London's Scuppered from the Holiday 2012 collection  - copper shimmer with multi-sized green glitter and microglitters in fuchsia, gold, brown. butter London no longer provide a glossary on their polish names (disappointed). According to the dictionary, scupper is a nautical term for sinking a ship deliberately, Scuppered maybe so named after its rusty copper and specks of bronze green. The shimmer shifts from copper-rose-gold-fuchsia is delicate and pretty.

I applied 2 coats followed by Dazzle dry top coat, but 3 coats of Scuppered may give more depth. The edges appeared sheer because I overdone the acetone clean-up... The finish is very smooth, no gritty bits.

I then french-tiped OPI GoldenEye from the Skyfall collection, 1 coat followed by a layer of topcoat. Although GoldenEye looks glittery from the bottle, it is surprisingly smooth on application considering it contains gold flakes of various sizes. The finish is a stunning metallic yellow gold, very opulent - perfect way to end 'doomsday 2012' ;P xAnn
