In my Holly Jolly Holiday post I said I like Christmas Eve, and I spend today painting my nails. I was inspired to do a mani for 23rdDec "Santa's Swimsuit" (see below) but my cuticle was crying for help with acetone overdose (dry unsightly cuticles). So I went on to make loodie loodie loodie's faux Zoya remover+ and go on cuticle maintenance for a few days (I'll post about both laters), and played with blog designs - Do you like Nailovelogy's new look?
Zoya's Blaze from the Ornate Holiday Winter (2012/13) collection is the base of my grand finale mani. It is a gorgeous mulberry red jelly with high concentration of "multidimensional" holographic micro glitter, giving it depth. I applied two coats and top coated with Dazzle-dry, ta da, look just like Shellac (that resin secreted by bugs). Blaze matches my expectation from its bottle (4 stars out of 5, Nailovelogy rating).
This mani is a mix of taping - tree with OPI Live and Let Die (Skyfall collection), writing free-handed, glitter polishes: holographic silver - Emily de Molly Ode to the Elite, gold - Essence The Huntsman (Snow White collection), and pressie stickers.
Merry Christmas everyone! xxAnn
Would you say dazzle dry is better than seche vite? Or shinier than seche vite?
ReplyDeleteSabia, I haven't compared since I want to stay away from toluene with two young children. Toluene is one of the nasties in non-3 Free polishes, which is also in SV (30-40% of content. For safety info on toluene, check thishttp://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/sial/179418?lang=en®ion=AU). I suspects SV will dry faster because toluene is a solvent.
DeleteLet me know if you found any comparison! =)
