Today's Aussie Nails Monday manicure is one I always wanted to try but too scared since it looks complicated - Galaxy! It turned out quite simple, much thanks to the youTube tutorial Elissa suggested (see here). In fact, it's one good nail-art to showcase your multi-chrome, holographic, and glitter polishes!
I applied Pretty Serious' Creature Crush as backdrop (see my swatch here), which provided the holographic and matted black hexes and silvery glitters. I then sponged on Ozotic 607, a high impact large particle holographic pink; a swap of Ozotic 752, a purple/silver duochrome; then a swap of Ozotic 517, a fine silvery linear holographic. Cathy of More Nail Polish has an complete swatch guide on Ozotic's multi-/duo-chrome/holographic polishes, definitely worth checking out (click here).
The star here is Ozotic 730, a red/copper duochrome. Which after all this layered sponging, also turned purple! This is how my nails and Ozotic 730 look when I shift my hands:
For final touch I used Emily de Molly's Ode to the Elite, which has the holographic hexs and bars as well as various small sized holographic glitters (other use see this earlier this earlier post); and a dab of Cirque's Galinda with small/tiny matted and holographic hex/round glitters for a bit of milky-way look. All smoothed with one coat of Dazzle dry top coat.
I'm awfully gluttonous with this multi-chrome/glitter feast, but loving it! My first galaxy attempt is not too shabby. How do you achieve your galaxy mani? xx Ann
