Holly Jolly Holiday TAG!

Can you believe it's only 10 days to Christmas?! I was by Jasmyn from Jas's Blingtastic Nail Blog for a Christmas/holiday questionnaire, Thanks Jas! The Holly Jolly Holiday tag started initially on YouTube, and lovely Elissa from Lissa's Polish Addiction thought it'd be fun to do a blog version, so here we go:

1. Do you start your Christmas shopping on Black Friday or wait until the last minute?

There is no Black Friday in all the places I stayed (Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong). For Christmas parties and secret santa, shopping is usually last minute - I am a busy working mum, ok? But I adopted my mother's habit of buying gifts throughout the year whenever I saw something suitable or at good price - which annoys my husband to no ends (he's a super saver).

2. If you could be in any Christmas movie what would it be?

Love Actually - romantic white Christmas with a bit of reality sadness. Big hit for my Christmas TV viewing every year.

3. Which do you like better: Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Christmas Eve with all the anticipation and Christmas Carols. The year just fly through once Christmas Day is here.

4. When does your family put up your Christmas tree and who decorates it? My parents usually put Christmas tree up when they remember (sometimes on Christmas Eve) and my brother and mum are the decorators. Our own family haven't have a Christmas tree yet since we spend Christmas away from our own home.

5. White lights or colored lights?

Coloured lights

6. Are you guilty of peeking at your presents or do you like the surprise?

Surprise but not surprise - I give enough hints I guess.

7. Would you rather live in a gingerbread house or in Santa's Workshop?

Edible gingerbread house by Heston Blumenthal.

8. Tell us your Christmas Eve traditions!
Big feast with family - no turkey but chinese Peking duck - before heading to church. Also checking out decorated neighbourhood. Christmas sock hanging on bedside now replaced with a glass of wine before bed ;P

9. If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be?

My husband (politically correct) or my son (until he's six).

10. What tops your tree?

I won't stick with one but many (like my polishes) - gold star, peace pigeon, silvery-white angle...

11. Can you name the 12 days of Christmas?

No idea (again, showing my Asian heritage)

12. Have you ever gone Christmas caroling?

A few times. Once I dressed up my miniature pinscher as Randolph the reindeer. She was so well behaved (think small-dog syndrome) surprised me =)

13. Do you countdown to Christmas? If so, how many days are left?

Tends to avoid countdown these days...

14. What are some foods and treats you can count on having every holiday season?

I love the looks of Christmas puddings and treats but they're too sweet for my liking. I want to try eggnog and muted wine but what's best other than a glass of ice cold white wine under the hot summer sun?

15. How has Christmas kept its magic for you as you've grown older?

Christmas is always magical thanks to my parents who always make time to celebrate, the memories stay. I want my kids to believe in the magic of Christmas too, more than presents but for the wonderful promise of hope baby Jesus brings to the world =)

I am tagging the following bloggers to spread the fun! Leave me comments below if you think it's fun to join or just wanna answer a few questions through comments! xx Ann
