Loud Shirt Day splatter

I may be too ambitious to start a blog thinking maternity leave is luxurious time-off at home. My Halloween swatch plan has to delay - I simply cannot sit down and polish my nails with an unsettled post-immunized newborn and a very bored preschooler!

So let's turn to an 'old' nailart I did for Loud Shirt Day! A charity event close to my heart...

various splattered over Pretty Serious Forbidden Fruit

On Loud Shirt Day we wear our brightest clothes (neons, flower child...you get the idea), have party/morning/afternoon tea, and raise money to help give the gift of sound and speech to deaf children.

I am a research scientist interested in how the cochlea (the sail like hearing organ) works and if it can be repaired in case of deafness. I organised LSD at work for the past two years but this time I am home down with a flu and on leave.

This is my first splatter. Pretty Serious' Forbidden Fruit is the base and I followed tutorials from Chalkboard Nails and The PolishAholicI didn't use top-coat since the splatter is thick and bumpy, taking ages to dry.

Though I like the pollock feel for LSD, what's your trick to achieve a glossy, bumpy-free finish?
